Should I train with a GPS?

A GPS can prove to be a useful training tool in terms of logging your mileage and pace, however you shouldn’t become too hung up on it. Runners have a tendency to become obsessive about data and it can be all too tempting to ‘race’ your watch, turning what should have been an easy run into something far harder.

At least once or twice a week it’s a good idea to ditch your GPS and just run to ‘feel’. If you’re feeling tired then simply run at an easy pace, without forcing it. If you feel good however then push on and enjoy the feeling.
