How many miles a day should I run to prepare for the Virgin Money London Marathon?

Congratulations if you have a place in the Virgin Money London Marathon. Simply put, it's not a case of just running a set amount per day, but instead about gradually building up to prepare your body for the rigours of a marathon. We would advise you follow a structured beginner marathon training plan (usually over 16 weeks or more) which will safely prepare you for your marathon. A training plan will outline a week-by-week schedule that will progressively get you ready to tackle the 26.2 miles.
