I am running a marathon every month over 12 months. Can you recommend distances I should do between marathons for example maintain long distance or shorter speed work distance?
Wow! Running a marathon a month every month over 12 months is certainly an amazing feat! I would say that the priority between each marathon should be recovery. Therefore too much long distance work would certainly be detrimental to this and if you are running a marathon each month, you really won’t need to spend much time maintaining your endurance in-between. I would recommend some shorter, slightly faster workouts that are easy to recover from yet keep your legs ticking over. Fartlek would be a great option as it can be relatively unstructured and you can run to feel.

I'm confused how many of my training long runs/miles I should run at race pace in the lead up to a marathon. I mostly train at about +30 sec pace on long runs. But I'm aware in the weeks leading up to the taper it's important to log some miles at race pace.
