How often do I need to train for a triathlon?
How long is a piece of string? The more you put in the more you can get out and with three sports the preparation you can do is endless. If you have limited time then you should pick sessions that give you as much bang for your buck as possible so you’re not wasting time with junk miles.
You need to start with doing at least a swim, cycle and run a week, otherwise the progression will be very slow. I’d say so long as you can train around 8hrs a week that will be sufficient to get round your first race and do a good job.
