Architect on the Run.... again!

I'm an architect from Plymouth who in 2013 ran my first ever Marathon ater 20 years of non-running. I managed it in 3:15 and was pretty stoked. I ran the VMLM again in 2015 and hit 3:09... so I have unfinished business and a desire to break the 3 hour barrier!

Not a good start to the week

Went for an 8.5 mile run on Tuesday night but within the first 50m I already felt ain in my right knee and a sharp stabbing in my right hamstring. Decided to slow the pace right up to very pedestrian 7:30/mile for fear of causing myself too much damage....

Recovery week and clown shoes!

That hurt!

First proper long run yesterday. Over 14 miles so my longest ever run to date. The weather was cold, windy and wet. A little dissipointed to only achieve an average pace of 7:09/mile but hoping that will improve on the next run.   Started with a 4 mile ...

Changing running technique

Just smashed 11 miles at 6.37/mile with a new running technique!!! So after feeling 'twinges' in both my knees and some sharp pain that caused me to take 2 weeks off from my plan before Xmas, I was frustrated that 2 weeks after running again I was still...

OUCH! First run of 2013

Ouch.... Definitely felt he excess of Christmas and having drunk far too much Prosecco on New Years Eve! Managed to get out on a training run last night once my little boy had gone to bed. My usual routes take in a bit of parkland but as it was pitch bl...
When I was in my teens I used to run quite a bit. I was a member of the local athletics club and dreamed of one day running the London Marathon. University life and nights out on the beer became a new focus and running was relegated to something that I ...

So I am 8 weeks into my 26 week training plan and am just about to finish the 'Running Faster' section ready to begin the 'Running Faster' element. So far I am up to 11 miles and have ramped up my speed to around 6:50 per mile pace. Its a little faster ...
