I can't run, but I have to do something!
I am a bit of a disaster, me. I am officially blind, due to a 'Traumatic Brain Injury' that I received in 2005, falling off my bike (*with* a helmet on - it could have been far worse!).
I currently have an injured hip, so I can't run. :-(

Hello. I have not been writing this blog much. But then, I haven't been running much.
Today, I was planning to spent a good while on my exercise bike. But I was doing lots of other stuff (work-related), and I decided I didn't feel like it. I have been ...
Hello again. I am sorry, I haven't written much in this blog lately, but I have been getting a fair amount of exercise, honest - not running, but lots of walking and/or lots of cycling. Well, remember, I am 'blind', so I can't cycle properly, but I have...
I went out for my first run in years, tonight. :-) :-) :-)
(f you don't know me, I used to be a keen but slow runner, but my hips gave out on me a few years ago. :-( I am doing plenty of exercise-biking, now. I can't ride a real bike, as I am officiall...
Hello. I haven’t written this blog for ages and ages. Have you missed me?
I know this is supposed to be a running blog, but in fact I had to stop running ages ago, because my hips are now playing up too much. Honestly, anyone would think I was getting ...
Remember me? I used to post here all the time, but I haven't, for ages. I used to run, but I had to quit, because my hips gave out on me. :-( (I turned fifty-one last week, but clearly my hips think I am much older. :-( ).
Anyway, I bought myself an e...
I haven't posted here in ages, because it was not actually posting, which was very irritating. I have been carrying on getting my exercise, though. To be honest, I have been getting lots more exercise than usual- after all, I do not have to waste time, ...
I haven't posted for ages, as it kept refusing to post. I wonder whether it will work today.
It has not worked, for a while. ;-(
I know I have said this before, but oooh, my bum hurts!
I am glad I have a FitBit: I was working all day, and when I looked at my FitBit at 5, it said I had walked one thousand steps all day. Eek! I had only walked to and from the kettle a few times, a...
I just did an hour’s Step workout – I can’t remember what it was called, it was on Amazon Prime. It was only forty-five minutes, so I did fifteen minutes of another one, just to bring myself up to an hour (just because I had decided to do an hour).
And...
Ooch! My bum hurts!
As it is a Saturday, I had plenty of spare time. So, this afternoon, I decided to cycle along to a film. I chose Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. I just plonked my (nice, new!) exercise bike in front of the television, and c...
Sorry, I didn’t post at the time – but my new exercise bike arrived on Tuesday. :-) It was supposed to arrive on Wednesday, but I was thrilled that it arrived a day early. So I cycled for forty-five minutes on Tuesday. Then yesterday, my husband gave an...
I used to be a keen runner – I was very slow (but hey, these days I have the excuse of being officially ‘blind’*). I managed to ‘run’ (well, get round!) the London Marathon twice (very slowly, but raising lots of money for Headway, a brain injury charit...
During the last couple of weeks, I have not been getting much exercise – my exercise bike died on me. :-( I obviously wore it out completely, as I had been riding it for an hour every day during this horrible Covid lockdown (just in front of the televi...
Oof, I am knackered!
During this lock-down, I have cycled for forty-five minutes, or an hour, almost every day. This is only on an exercise-bike - remember, I am 'blind' - only officially, in reality I am only 'visually impaired'. I figure that, well,...
Yesterday afternoon, I cycled for two hours, watching Blade Runner. I remember watching it at the cinema in the nineteen-eighties (or maybe it was on a video, as I might have been too young to see it at the cinema - there is quite a bit of swearing!). I...
I used to aim to do a 45-minute cycle, several times a week (typically watching something like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, or more recently Grey’s Anatomy). But quite often I didn’t manage it. By the time I got home from work, I just didn’t have the time ...
Wow! I went for a run! :-) :-) :-)
(If you don't know me, I used to be a keen (but slow) runner, but I had to give up, years ago now, because my hips have given out on me.)
My fifteen-year-old, QTKT, has started running during this lockdown. Myself an...
Oooh, me bum hurts!
I just cycled for two hours, watching The Silence Of The Lambs. I couldn’t decide which film to watch, so I flicked through Netflix, I saw that one, and I thought “Yeah, why not?”. Well, because it is depressing! I remembered most o...
My fifteen-year-old daughter has taken up running (entirely off her own back - neither myself of Mr Flump, who is a very keen runner and triathlete, talked her into it, she has just been going out on her own most days. She said that she needed something...
I did it! For the first time in years, I went for a run. :-)
It was a pathetic short run - only half a mile, and with a couple of little walky bits. However, I was doing the walking because I thought I should, not because I needed to.
It was on the ro...
Hello, folks. I haven't written in a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been exercising.
I started a new job a months ago. :-) It is doing admin, in a university. I used to be a university lecturer, so I know the university system well, and since I...
I haven't been able to run for years, because of my bad hips. There have been a few times recently when I have had to run, to catch a train. It has only been for a few hundred metres, but still! For my current job, the train home has a three-minute conn...
The chamber of secretly worn-out legs
I did it again. :-)
I had a fairly rubbish week, exercise-wise (because of things like a horrible train journey that got me home two-hours later than usual :-( ).
But today I had a really good day, exercise-wise...
