A Couch Potatoes Guide to Healthy Food.

I am Jack Salisbury one of realbuzz's new content assistants.

I would like to think I have a fairly healthy lifestyle. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the comforts of a good pint in front of the footie (or cricket or rugby or tennis or professional speed ironing...) as much as the next red-blooded Englishmen and I fully intend to slip into the time honoured Christmas malaise over the festive season. Despite this I would like to think I am an active person. I don't have a car and so walk pretty much everywhere and I own a small, very energetic Jack Russell who I walk - often twice a day.

One of the things I think is key to keeping in shape (without too much gruelling exercise) is maintaining a healthy diet. The problem that I have is that I love rich food and, although it may seem an overly exercised excuse, I find it hard to cook good healthy food at home.

This blog is where I will write about my attempts to search out and cook great healthy food without resorting to eating dry muesli and Rivita!

It is also where I will air my opinions on how we, as a nation, approach food from buying it to cooking it.

Spring is definately in the air

Hello everyone, What amazing weather we’ve been having recently. It’s been great and gave me the opportunity to finally dismantle the old rotting shed that the previous owner of our house had left in the back yard. To reward my girlfriend and I for our ...

Long time away from my blog, things are starting to get hectic at realbuzz.com as the VLM and the launch of the new site gradually draw nearer. One thing that has remained unshakable is my commitment to cooking great tasting and (relatively) healthy foo...

New Year's resolutions.

Firstly happy new year everyone. Hope you all had a good Christmas. I was over in the emerald isle this year and had a great time. We lost our water on Xmas eve and didn’t get it back before I left so I returned to Britain feeling extremely grotty, just...

The virtues of game meats.

Game meats are a group of foods that all too rarely grace our tables. This is a real shame because as well as being really tasty game meats are also extremely healthy and can provide a fantastic alternative to some of the fattier cuts from more traditio...

A Healthy Curry, Really?

First post, brimming with ideas. What I thought I'd try is to help dispel one of healthy food's great misinterpretations. One of my very favourite meals is curry and I love Indian cuisine in general. However, although I am by no means suggesting that I ...
