3rd year blogger

Hi,

My name is Loopylou and I am on a quest to run my 3rd consecutive London Marathon. I have ran the last 2 FLM's for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, as my friend Susannah was diagnosed with it, 2 years ago. She is doing well and is a great inspiration to me.

I have been blogging for 2 and a half years and have made some great friends on here.  I hope that most of them will continue to run and blog. They have made me laugh and cry and have inspired me on.  I meanwhile write a load of rubbish on here about anything else but running and have some laughs doing this.

This year I am running for MIND. I got a place in the ballot again (jammy cow) and chose MIND as my nephew is experiencing mental health problems.  He is only 18 and is AMAZING. My sis, his mum is also running (see team Jackarony blog).  My family  have had a rather large learning curve when it comes to mental illness and it is that same old story "I thought it would never happen to me".  Well, it has happen to my family and we are all trying to deal with it the best we can. Believe me when I say that working in mental health does not help. It does not ease the pain my family are suffering. My sis and her hubby and their daughter have been troopers and continue to support Jack through this. So, you know what is coming..........dig deep please and support us. I will leave details of my online donation page as soon as I know what I have flippin well done with it!

So, here I go again, with Daisy and Bruno in tow.

I'm exhausted

Right, that is my 16 miles done and dusted and in 2 hours and 42 minutes precisely, 2 minutes out of my target time.  I now ache all over my body including my brain.  I had a conversation with bruno when I got back. He was rabbeting on about how excited...

14 miles done and dusted

I set off on Friday and ran a good 14 miles. I didn't really know where to go so set off in the general direction of "where the hell am I going" direction.  I opted for country lanes and luckily came out on a raod I was familiar with. All was going well...

Ermmm

I didn't go back and do the other 4 miles. I just couldn't face staring at a light switch for another 40 minutes.

Poor Jade

I really feel for Jade.  The news that her illness is terminal is so sad. As it is for anyone young who is battling cancer. Worst still, she has 2 young boys. Life can be so cruel. When I got home from my 12 mile run today I was really grizzling about i...

I ran 10 miles today and I am buzzing. I feel great and the run felt really good. I managed the run in 1 hour 35 minutes. The only mistake I made was to save the last really steep hill until last.  It was a mile and a half long and it nearly killed me. ...

Ouch

Went to my sisters, drank a bottle of red, passed out on the sofa, woke up with a headache, went home.

Single again

I can't believe that I am single again. I am absolutely devestated that I have split from Bruno. It has come from nowhere. I think the problem is he did not want to commit to a long term relationship. I wish I was 3 months down the road. We have all bee...

It seems that there are still...

One of my underlings today said to me "Lou, I have a place to run the marathon". I nearly fell off my chair. Mainly because she is a svelt little nimble thing, who will nip round the course like a whippet. I am already plotting ways to maim and if neces...

My sis did 8 miles

My sis ran 8 miles in the freezing cold. I meanwhile relaxed in Bluewater eating cake and downing a lovely hot choccie. I have nothing more to say on the issue.
