First timer to this long distance running

Hi,

First time bloging and I seem to have the running bug, I have signed up  to the Great South run in October and will be running on behalf of Parkinson's society I have done 10k so far but finding it quite hard road running compared to the treadmill but I am getting there, hoping to get selected for the London Marathon next year which is my ultimate challenge so putting plenty of work in, is it good to run plenty of arranged events before the big one to get the experience?

Well that is it for now will keep you posted of progress and if anyone has good training tips much appreciated.

Thanks Graham.
