Today I went and did a 5k timed race.Have just discovered these races.They are every Saturday morning and they are free which is a bonus. if your intrested there are now quite a few springing up around the country and are run by volunteers.My run was good and got a pb by 1 second!So fairly happy although had a slight hip niggle when finished but that could be the hyperchondriac in me coming out.Gave it a ice shower and seems ok now.Been trying to build a good base for the past couple of months for when the training proper starts.Plan is ten miles tomarrow,shall take it easy and find a new route then my training plan will start on Monday. Hope everyone is having a good weekend,enjoy your long runs tomarrow unless you've already done them today,in which case well done.
