Today was another early morning run as I had meetings all day so couldn't run at lunch. I did the same 4.75 miles route that I did on Tuesday and managed to run a little faster but I still find the early morning runs hard work. This time I ran the 4.75 miles in 41:33 for an 8:45 average.
After a long day at work the session at the club tonight was a tough one – 5 x 60s fast with 30s recovery and 3 minutes between sets. Group 1 did 4 sets and group 2 did 3 sets and this is one of the toughest sessions we do. And for group two this was hard work but they all did very well and even enjoyed it! I’m constantly amazed and proud at how well they are doing and how much they enjoy their running and support each other.
For me this was a tough session as my current level of fitness isn’t where I’d like it to be. So instead of recording some of my 60s efforts at sub 6 minute pace, they were all over 6:00 but at least I kept them all under 7 minute pace but must admit that it was hard to do on the final ones!
Tomorrow will be a recovery day but will involve another early morning run and I think it will be slow and steady the way my legs feel after tonight’s session!!
