Glad to report that I managed to run my planned 18 miles yesterday, so feel pleased to get more or less back on track for my marathon in 3 weeks time.
I was, and still am knackered, but pleased with my 10.05m pace. I'm planning a 20 miler next week-end and then I'll have to (hopefully) rely upon the race day boost to get me round the extra 6 miles two weeks later! I'm not bothered about my time, as long as i get inside the Portsmouth Coastal Marathon 5h30m cut off, so It's ok if i end up walking a bit. My real aim is to beat my pb of 4h 20m (Dublin 1996) at the VLM in April. I need to lose some more weight however to stand a chance of that! I think I'll get Xmas, and a week in Spain in early January before I attend to that problem.....
A couple of days rest planned now, then a midweek 6 mile loosener before my week-end exertions.
