I felt pretty good after last night's interval session and decided I didn't need 2 rest days before my 'long' run on Sunday, so I headed out for an extra run tonight.
Hmmm. Not very clever.
The first couple of kms were great but it didn't last. My poor calf muscles soon started sreaming at me to stop and I staggered home in a very poor walk/run combo.
So the moral of the story is ... don't be a smart arse, stick to the training plan. It seems the people who write them know what they are on about, who knew?!!
Rest day tomorrow and I will make sure I actually rest so I can do a half decent run on Sunday.
