Divine Intervention

294437Hey Runsters!

After a week of running (seemingly) on the surface of the sun I was grateful to have my prayers answered and get a reduction in temperature (and humidity) for today’s long run.

A heady distance requirement of 17 miles was being demanded by my plan but as my suitably lubed body shuffled out of the door this morning I decided I’d be happy with any distance into double figures.

Despite the temperature reduction, it was still 22C / 71F and I had drastically underestimated the amount of water I’d need for the run. Luckily at around ten miles I passed a church which was hosting an outdoor event. The vicar could see how hot I was and handed me a bottle of water! Divine intervention if you will.

My final problem was to come when my Apple Watch decided to retire at 11 miles. Sooooo, you’re just gonna have to take my word for the fact that the final distance of my blessed run today was 14.6 miles. Not as far as required but I’m more than happy with that.

Musical highlights keeping this tubster rolling along were:

Gonna Fly Now - Bill Conti

Sandstorm - Darude
