Running Training

I've got my place in the London Marathon but we are going skiing on the 7th April for a week but I'm worried about training. How should I train during that week?

The 7th April is pretty much two weeks out from London Marathon so by that stage all of the hard work will be done and you should be starting your taper towards the race. During this time the volume of your training should reduce but you should try to maintain some intensity so as not to feel too sluggish on race day.

If you are able to squeeze some runs in during your holiday then I’d be tempted to keep them on the shorter side and perhaps add a little intensity with an interval session at or just above marathon pace. If you have access to a treadmill during the week, this may be the safest bet as running on snow and ice can prove to be an injury risk.

I run a total of 16-18 km per week 3 runs of 5-6 km each. Is it better to train this way or one 15 km run ? Per week

Running Training
I ran when I was younger did 2:44 marathon, had a break for 8 years and started again rather fat 7 years ago. 2012 after losing weight I did 3:08 and have steadily been dropping to 2:41 this year. I’m 50 next year and currently training on the 85mi + Pfitzingers Advanced plan. Do you think sub 2:40 is possible or will age get the better of me and how can I adapt the plan for the better?
