How much pressure should I put in my bike tyres for a triathlon?
Riding with high tyre pressure will usually be the fastest option, however, if you do that you’re taking a risk. Hit a stone or a hole in the road and you’re much more likely to have a pressure flat because the air has got nowhere to go.
If you’re racing on a slippery or damp you’re also asking for trouble as it’ll be far more difficult to take the corners fast with a highly inflated tyre and you’re at risk of crashing. So tyre pressure really is something for you to weigh up on the morning of the race.
