How do I get mentally tougher for a triathlon?

The mind is an unbelievably powerful tool and if you can remain mentally strong it’s a big advantage in your racing. As soon as your head goes down in a race it pulls everything down with it, you start getting negative thoughts, your legs will give up on you and your speed and concentration will drop.

Whatever happens you must always remain as positive as you can and try to control the controllables during the difficult moments of bad luck. Keep smiling and you’ll surprise yourself how well you can race.
