Starts: 6th Apr 2020
With the first cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) being identified in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe, schools have already closed. It's undoubtedly a scary time for all of us, and those living in slum communities in East Africa are not immune to the fear. A lack of clean water or sanitation facilities in crowded homes means it's almost impossible for families to follow World Health Organisation advice.
Click here to find out more about how Coronavirus is affecting African Children’s Fund’s work.
During this period of activity restrictions, we’re calling on our amazing African Children’s Fund supporters to run 10 kilometres in return for sponsorship from your friends and family. For every £5 of sponsorship you receive, you will provide soap and detergent for a family whose children would normally be supported by our educational programmes.
We suggest a fundraising target of at least £25 for this event.
Please ensure you adhere to Government guidance on exercise and social distancing when you undertake this challenge.
Once you have completed this challenge, upload a photograph of your 10K run from your preferred activity tracker and you will receive a medal in the post.
Why not share your success on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #TeamACF!
