Let the training commence

Oct27200911 p.m.

Well, this weekend hasn't been very productive for me I must admit; I had a lot of family come down to visit this weekend which meant alot of indulgent meals and not alot of exercise. So today the healthy diet is starting because I think its important that not only am I fit enough to run this race in May but Im also eating the right foods. I went back to the gym last night but thought I'd ease myself back into it after the weekend. Last thursday however, I did manage to run 5Km which is half the distance I will need to do so not a bad start I feel. Ive also discovered that at Bushy Park in Kingston near me there is a 5km run every saturday morning, I think I need to get myself involved. Tonight I had kickboxing which is helping my stamina improve and my muscles to tone. At the moment rather than just running Im trying to build my fitness up as much as I can.

  • markinthepark 'Well done on getting training. The 'parkrun' 5k events are fantastic and free too. There is one at Bushy which is about 500 runners and one at Richmond too which is about 150. Do try one, you will like it.' added 28th Oct 2009
