21 done and dusted and the tapering begins!

Hurrah, now on the home stretch with 21 miles behind me and the tapering down to look forward to! Went to bed early in preparation for my run today but got up later to get myself a bowl of pasta - not sure if eating late was ideal but I didn't seem to suffer from it. Porridge and a smoothie for breakfast and then set off at 11am. Did the first 7 miles on my own and then Tony (my husband) heroically joined me for the next 2 x 7 mile circuits. Lots of people out during the first seven miles and I did keep having to ask people if they could move aside (still not had the nerve to say Boo when coming up behind them)! Took some gels with me to try this time and whilst I think that they are totally disgusting and so sweet that they make me want to throw-up (I didn't) they did seem to help and I finished the run in 3hrs10 mins which I was really pleased with. However, there will still be another 5.2 miles to go on the 25th April and if the weather is rubbish as well I have no idea how I will do! Anyway, totally slobbed out for the rest of the day and enjoying loads to eat tonight washed down with a few glasses of red. Hope everyone else had a good Easter and are looking forward to the tapering. Still not done any housework this Easter so maybe might have to do a little tomorrow but I don't want to wear myself out do I?!!!!
