30 miles a day for 31 days?

Nov0520098:26 p.m.

30 miles a day for 31 days = 945 miles…perhaps not…lol…

Has been such a better week this week, everything seems to be functioning much better, however, so much for flippin working harder! Found myself spending the first couple of days on the road; Monday driving all the way down to Hampshire for a two-hour meeting, again Tuesday was on the road so by Wednesday morning found myself in gym having done absolutely nothing.

Got a bit carried away with my 10 minute warm up on the Dreadmill, started about 7 KPH and upped the speed every minute more or less. Started to really pinch at 7 minutes, 13 KPH. Finished 15.5KPH, covered 2.15K in the 10 minutes. Rattled through the leg strengthening session and elected to delay running further till the afternoon. Bad move as the heavens opened into an absolute deluge which made running a fairly stupid move, chose not to be stupid for a change.

Today set out early on a planned long run with a colleague from work, sadly my RB was out of sorts and dropped out at the 3 mile point heading back to work (note to self: stop breaking the workforce!). Not wanting to waste the opportunity headed out into the country and found myself running so fluidly, everything just clicked, perhaps after a good rest the legs were keen to get going again? If anything I worked hard to keep the run controlled, everything balanced and not run crazy. There were some serious pulls but found that I’d lost little pace, occurred to me perhaps recent work had increased the power in my legs, certainly felt so much stronger. Was tired over the last mile but still finished strong.

Thur 5 Nov,  10.02 miles,  1:20:37

Pace Splits: 8:21, 8:32, 8:33, 8:12, 7:57, 8:04, 7:55, 7:44, 7:34, 7:36

Hope to end the week with a few more runs……

  • aphid 'Well , just made myself late catching up on your blog. Could you make your posts more boring please so Im not tempted to read them?! See you got your calculator out then! And Mike and Skye please take note - you dont HAVE to run in biblical conditions. If Alaistair can say no so can you! Great GSR report - loved the photos - but I would use more sunblock if I were you. Yet another excellent run . Actually , just realised your blogs , if not exactly boring , are certainly repetitive - one superb run after another! Had to smile at your warm up session , which sounds more like one of my full on interval efforts. I rarely get past 13.5kph and then only if I have about an hour recovery inbetween. Hope you are ok healthwise. ' added 6th Nov 2009
