Waiting...

I'm still waiting!!....
I recently moved to at little village just outside Northampton, and saw it as a great opportunity to get an allotment! (I've always wanted one!) I've taken all the steps to get one...but now I'm still waiting!
The 'committee man' said he might be able to get me one within the week...that was two weeks ago!
I HAD chosen one that I liked, but didn't feel too happy about the asbestos shed situated on it! I've contact 'committee man' to tell him not to push too hard to get me that one! Maybe he thinks I'm not interested anymore! I'll leave it another week, and then give him a nudge!
I'm watching all the programmes, and I've just ordered Carol Klein's 'Grow your own veg' book (even though she scares me!). I'm going to be sad, and work out on a spreadsheet (I'm notorious for my spreadsheets!), what to sew/plant/harvest,and when! Then I can plan the year, along with the plot!
So...watch this space!

klebe 'Hi I've found you. Will keep popping in to see how you're doing! Those old asbestos cement sheets are OK, in their inert form they just stand there, you've only got to really worry if you are cutting or sawing them. Its the blown asbestos insulation and lagging which are the really bad ones as they release the fibres into the air. Hope you hear from the committee man soon.' added 30th Jan 2007

Alexis 'There are some broken bits behind the shed...which I didn't like....I could just see myself breaking a piece whilst trying to remove it. If it's the only allotment I can have, I'll get round it, but otherwise, I'd rather have a safer one!!!!!' added 30th Jan 2007

SuperCaz 'Look forward to hearing how you get on. I always plant loads of seeds between now and Easter, then by May they are all dead because I forget to water them! ' added 30th Jan 2007
