Well running has taken a back seat while I have been pregnant with Amelia, I did keep running for 7 months but then got very heavy and had a cold so I gave up... She was born on 3rd April by Cesarean as she was breech with a low cord... Great op and back on my feet with 12 hours! A lot better than I had been lead to believe, maybe the running and fittness helped?
Started running again 2 weeks ago when she was 4weeks old and have built up to a 50 minute run over the downs which was prob ally 4 ish miles... I am slow but steady at the moment.
Now she is 6 weeks old and I am signed off as fit its time to push myself a little bit... I have entered Worthing 10k in 3 weeks time with the aim to running the whole thing slow and steady with no walks or stops.. I have also entered Beachy Head Marathon, its my favourite race and the love the training in warm early mornings, plenty of time to go as its in October but hoping this will give me a long term target to go for and get properly fit for again..
Any other Mummies out there trying to get back in to it?? or anyone had a while off and trying to get back in to again??

Alexx 'Wonderful, great views loads of ups and downs, great people marshalling, tea and cake at one of the water stops.. Love it.. Best or worst bit is the last 6 miles over the 7 sisters - only there are 9 steep hills... Its more of an adventure than a race... I think its a must do race..' added 21st May 2008
