What a fab day!
The sun was shining from a very early hour this morning and I had to get up at 5:50 in preparation for going to run Hairy Haggis Relay in Edinburgh with the RealRadio Team. What a day, what a laugh, it's amazing that a group of 12 strangers and Ewen Cameron can come together and have a great time, the common theme with the execption of Mr C is that we all run, some more seriously than others, nonetheless we all run. My team beat the other 2 teams, time yet to be confirmed, but I reckon we completed the race in 4:05 minutesish! I did the first leg in 68minutes and boy was I glad to do the first one as the day only got hotter and even though I put sun cream on, I'm burnt. The other 2 teams didn't come in for another 35minutes after me, so my number 2 - AKA Wonderwoman got a good headstart and we maintained that throughout - fantastic. Was very peed off that when I got to first water station, there was no water left - appalling and I heard from my number 3 that on his leg which was the other 8miler, the water had ran out then, it was no wonder that people were coming in a mess - boo to the organisers! In spite of this it was a great day, I'm shattered, think a wee glass of vino is in order and I think it'll be an early night for me! Hope you've all had a good weekend running.

Skye_Trekker 'Good race:0) Shocking about the water though, the quantities obviously weren't thought through properly, especially if they were running out that early... Think you've earned the glass of wine..!' added 31st May 2009

tinabee 'Well done. Glad you had such a good time and you were lucky to get your leg over first considering the heat! Appalling organisation on the water front - they have been predicting this weather for days so it was obvious runners would take more than one bottle each. But to run out on the first leg is really bad! Hope the wine went down well.' added 1st Jun 2009

Highmileage 'Thanks for your comment on my blog. Ansterdam marathon is one I'd like to do, so I'm curious to hear all about it. Good luck with the quest for sub 4! ;)) ' added 5th Jun 2009

TISM 'You can run, but you can't hide....!! Mystery solved, now subscribed to new blog. Amsterdam sounds like a terrific plan, fancied that one myself but it always clashes with the Great Eastern Run (or too close for comfort), and that is one run I can't get out of for the moment...lol Good to catch up with you again...' added 13th Jun 2009
