Arctic conditions!

Feeling rather smug this evening, as I've just got in from an 11 mile run in bitterly cold weather on pavements that were like an ice rink. It was me versus the elements and I won! That is always so satisfying, isn't it? The run was a good one too, felt strong and comfortable for most of the way, and felt I could have gone further (if it wasn't for my poor frost-bitten fingers!).
I'm also pleased with myself as this is my 3rd 11 mile run this training season, so I feel slightly ahead of the game. Not sure that I'll fit one in next week, but won't lose any sleep over that! Will just try to get out when I can, even if it's only a few short runs in the week (time to preserve my sanity amongst the maddness of a house full of people)
This week has been lacking in miles overall, only been out twice. Tonight's 11 and 7 last Sunday. Weekly mileage not good, 18, but not worried, I probably covered a good 6 miles while doing my Christmas shopping this morning, laden down with dozens of carrier bags, so that must count!
Hope your runs are going well, take care on those icy pavements and don't forget to wrap up warm. I've just looked outside and seen lots of snow...glad I'm inside now!

I did 12 miles yesterday in bitterly cold weather - good running but boy I was cold! No snow or ice where we are (Somerset/Wiltshire border) but sounds like plenty for others!
