Disaster

Apr0520104:59 p.m.

Today was going to be the day - the last long run; 20/22+ miles; family away with relatives so no time pressures of dinner, bath and bedtime etc; feeling good; well hydrated; well rested - a good couple of days rest over the weekend following a nice 10 miles on Friday; but it wasn't to be...

I managed just 13 miles - less than 2 hours - very frustrating, legs were okay, mind was in an okay place, gym was reasonably busy so plenty of distractions from the tedium of running; just got to 13 miles and couldn't go any further...

Back to work tomorrow too, although if family still away tomorrow evening I might venture to the gym tomorrow evening to see if the long run happens then - I know I shouldn't but if I don't I don't know when it will happen and now the need to taper is nagging as now my plan need reworking....

Very disappoined Cry but hopefully after a relaxing night home alone and a good night's sleep, will feel more postive tomorrow........

  • Suziewee 'Oh dear, how disappointing for you. I found my run yesterday very hard too as you know, but I had to get home so kept going. If I had been on a treadmill I would have got off for sure. Can you get someone to drop you off 20 miles from home? I am sure you would manage it then? I hope it goes better for you tomorrow.' added 5th Apr 2010
