And he's gone too early!

Feb22201010:22 p.m.

Saturday afternoon.  Very pleased with myself.  34 miles done on the bike, longest cycle in my training so far.

Sunday morning.  Wake up, hobble downstairs, left knee cap aching.  Too sore to go out for another ride.

Monday evening, get on turbo trainer.  8 minutes later, get off again.

I now know my knee cap is called a patella.  I also know there are dozens of potential reasons why it might be hurting my right now.  The one I'm most fearing is that I've got the knee of an OAP.   Hopefully it is something simple like cleats on wrong setting, or saddle too high / low.   Either way, I've missed 2 days training, and won't be able to get back on the bike for a little while.

In a half iron man, the fastest times come from the best cyclists as proportionally you're spending most time in that discipline.    It is also my least favourite and weakest.   What I don't need is a cycling injury to persist for the next few weeks.   Tomorrow morning, back in the pool.  At least I can't injure myself in water...
