Royal Parks half & GSR
I can't believe that I have added nothing since May! I am supposed to be running the Royal Parks half next Sunday but have had to pull out. If there is any body who wants a place I will be happy to forward my place to them.
Katie and I are running the Great South Run and for me it will be my swan song of running races. It was the first long distance race I did and I am doing it as my last for the best of reasons! After that I am just running to keep fit and doing more and more long distance walking. So, after such a long time this is my last post on realbuzz.
I hope you all do well in the future and thank you for all the support of this older runner for the last few years.
Take care - Anne

Blast from the past!
Again, sorry I have been off line for so long. My time just seems to disappear at the moment. I have a friend who is dying and spare time just seems to get taken up.
I just want to wish all thse doing the Edinburgh Marathon the very best of luck on Sunday. I hope is is not too hot.
To everybody else - good luck with all the training, whether running or training for the Trailwalker.
Catch up soon! Take care.

And then 5 weeks later......
I can't believe a whole month+ has gone by without adding anything to this. I haven't done much since I last wrote but I have been impressed by all that you have been doing. I tried to comment on the marathoners but to everybody else a big apology. I felt as if I was always moaning and achieving little so decided to spare you the moans. My shoulder is still very sore but at least I'm seeing the specialist soon so maybe some action then.
Over the last two weeks I have run five 5ks and today I went for a 14mile walk through the countryside and the bluebell woods, good for the soul if not the soles. Katie and I are doing a 26mile walk next month for a local children's hospice so I thought I had better get going as Katie has put in some impressive mileage.
It was great to meet up with people for the FLM and to cheer Realbuzzers on. We had a fantastic day but I didn't envy the runners at all it was so warm - but well done to everybody.
I intend to get some more running miles in this week and perhaps do a 15/18 mile walk next weekend. Then, it is off to London to spend some time with Katie to pre celebrate her birthday with theatre, shopping and other little indulgences. I hope you are all having a good bank holiday and I will try and do some catching up soon. Take care.

Not much running....
Since I came home from London (late Monday afternoon) after a weekend of over indulgence and being thoroughly spoiled by Katie I have only run 5k and even that was without enthusiasm. My get up and go has got up and gone. Somehow the week has just flown by and with Docs about my still very sore shoulder, a funeral and a visit to see Elliott tomorrow and Katie arriving in the evening I can't see a run on the horizon tomorrow.
Saturday, maybe I will redeem myself with a long walk on the South Downs after the trailwalker meeting with Katie & Amy. No Reading half on Sunday and lunch out with the family, and a visitor to stay wipes the weekend out. So, it is up to me to get out there next week and cover some miles.
The good news is that I have a place in the Royal Parks half in October which together with the Great South Run should light the blue touch paper again.
Very best of luck to all running at Reading, to Skye Trekker in Prague and everybody else who is either training or running a race. Have a great weekend and keep smiling.

Loved the sun this weekend
Wasn't it great to feel a little warmth in the sun this weekend? I just loved it.
Saturday, as planned I ran 10k and put in a much better time than I was expecting so very happy with that. On Tina's blog I had commented that I was down after HL - that was not to say I didn't enjoy the weekend because I did and it was so special to meet up with so many people. I was down on myself for running the race wrongly and for realising that realistically I was not and am not fit enough to run the Reading Half - it is a hard decision to pull out as some of you know. I will however be fit for the GSR!
Sunday I had planned to walk and managed to convince a friend that she would like to walk too. We found a new route which should have taken us about 5 miles. Lovely, along a stream, through woods and coppices, open countryside and finally along a country lane with the hedgerows beginning to look fresh and colourful and then a pub meal, so all in all very good. I said should have been 5 miles, despite the route saying ignore the first stile on the right.......... Suffice to say it was nearer 6.5 miles!
This morning I had made my mind up to run 5k to shake to cobwebs off. Lovely morning, crisp, sunny and warming up. The forest looks as if it is coming to life so that too was lovely. The garden is now calling out for some TLC but whether I hear or not is debateable.
I look forward to reading about the weekend races and training. Have a happy, smiley week. Take care.
