5 days on the trot

Jul3120098:09 a.m.

After a bad day at work and having chores to do at home, I finally got out at half 8. 6 miles was the goal. Mile 1 went well in 9min 11sec. Mile 2 fine in about the same time but then the wheels came off a bit. I started to feel tired and my head started to give in, mile 3 was then about 10min 30sec.

It was a struggle to push on to mile 4, I really just wanted to stop but then my head kicked in again and I managed to talk myself into 1 more mile. Once the 4th mile was done, it was just 2 to go, 20 mins running is a piece of cake, just keep going. Through mile 4 and into 5 the head starts to realise I am going to make it. Times were not important then it was the just getting through.

I managed the 6 miles in 60mins and 52 seconds. I was hoping for under the hour but with the gremlins in the head I knew I was not going to get that. I was pleased to have done the 5 days and I can now go out and enjoy my evening with some old friends tonight.
