Love a challenge

Jul1220119:48 a.m.

After a nice 4 mile run on the tready yesterday.  Yes I know I didn't run hard enough at the British 10k (like I could do that with that amount of bodies).  Today's challenge is 12k on the rower, Laura my friend who was going to join me is injured so my 10k has now increased to 12.  We are training to do a marathon row for charity on the 15th November.  I have done this before so I'm going to try and beat my last time.  I am cruel as I am organising a charity challenge at work with 3 of us rowing a marathon and some individuals taking part in a gruelling gym challenge with some fun exercises (hehehe).  All sponsorship and funds will go to Phyllis Tuckwell or the paramedics that we might need. Frown  I really should be up to 15k by now so a good 12 will make me happy.  My next run is on Friday with a gentle 3 before a nice 5 or 7 on Saturday.  I have been a bit lazy the last couple of weeks mainly due to an injured knee so building the running back up to 4 times a week again with a min of 20 miles.

Have put in for my red fleece for next years VLM but also thinking about doing the Loch Ness Marathon - anyone out there that can tell me about it e.g. flat/undulating, scenic, fun etc etc.

Happy training everyone.

  • Tonypminter 'Hi Helen, Tony here! thank you for the kind words you put on my post. Thank you. And....you are my first follower on realbuzz so I am really pleased -Thanks for that too! Hey? Looks like were both going to be lining up on blackheath next April. Be nice to follow how your training goes between now and then. Well done on the charity row. that's real hard work. I had a friend I worked with years ago who used to row on the thames regularly and she used to share some great stories of blisters and boat capsizing, well not actually capsizing but filling with water cos' some idiot had gone by in a motor boat at speed etc.... have a good training session later....' added 12th Jul 2011
