Chillin' by the River
Dec0420094:45 p.m.
The title of this entry may lead you to believe that I found a comfortable spot, with a good book, maybe a bottle of Pinot, some ambient music and enjoyed a wholesomely relaxing time. Well you'd be mistaken! What it actually means is that only running in a T-shirt and shorts today down the banks of the Thames was nipple-bracingly cold! At least it wasn't p-ing hard today though.
4.42 miles completed in 40:42 @ 9:12 and with AveHR of 163. Peak pace was a gazelle like 6:45min/mi for the last couple of minutes. Time was about 1 1/2 minutes faster than 2 days ago, so that's quite pleasing. Will know that proper improvements are being made, and fitness returning when that run can be completed in under 40mins with an AveHR of under 150.
Off to Silverstone to visit Finn's godfather and his family for the weekend, so that will be great fun.
Looking forward to making more progress next week - plan is to do 2 lots of 4.4mi and my first 5mi+ since April.
Have a fabbo weekend one and all.

simonedumergue 'Hmm, I would definitely be casting my vote for a bottle of Pinot Noir with a good book and a comfy chair down by the river. Bet that was freezing today. I gave up on the shorts a while back. Apart from being too cold now, my legs are now back to winter white and I don't want to scare the villagers :-) Enjoy your weekend, and good luck with the running next week. (Did you get a charity place for Bath in the end?)' added 4th Dec 2009

JSIMMONDS 'A very good improvement. Doing that with an average HR of 150 is going to be a real challenge - that's a lot of improvement.' added 7th Dec 2009
