Trench foot
Dec03200912:37 a.m.
After Monday's running wimp out, it was going to be out for a run yesterday come hell or high water .... little did I realise at the time that this phrase would literally happen!
Set off from the office around 1645, Got about 5 minutes into it and it started raining, after another 10 minutes the heavens opened like you wouldn't believe. With the abuse for the excuse(s) from Monday still ringing in my ears I carried on, up to Westminster, and then back the way I came. On the way back I could not help thinking that this rain of biblical proportions was down to me commenting on JSimmonds friend MEFRM, and that this was the Gods of the Fells gaining revenge on some southern softie who dared to pour scorn on one of their disciples!!
Arrived back at the office having completed 4.4 miles @ 9:34min/mi and AveHR 160. I have never got so wet running! Literally saturated ... everywhere. Colleagues thought it was very amusing as I left puddles and footprints at various parts of the office. I would point out that the puddles were from the rain, not becuase I am reaching an age where "my control" has begun to desert me. My feet and trainers were so wet I half expected to wake up this morning with Trench Foot!
Having negotiated the run it was off to some festive drinks, and for the first time in many years I wasn't on the last train, I wasn't dribbling into my lap, nor was I at extreme risk of missing my stop and ending up at Dover! And this morning .. for once my head does not feel like a medicine ball has been dropped on it 20 times!
Next reflexology session tonight, so hopefully the Trench Foot has been avoided or it will be most unpleasant for Helen the reflxologist.

simonedumergue 'Ha - I very nearly called one of my posts last week 'Trench Foot'. I can relate to that experience! Well done on the restraint on the drinks front - very hard to do once you get into the swing of it, but bet you felt nice and smug this morning with your clear head :-)' added 3rd Dec 2009
