Hi all! Haven't blogged for a while as things have just been a bit crazy chez Charlie.

Firstly my running - done a couple of short runs on the treadmill at the gym over the last couple of weeks, and then Suz and I went for a run in the baking heat on Sunday - 6.7miles in 1hr18.  Bit slow but it was baking and we did have a lot of gossip to catch up on! I have to say that run is the best thing thats happened to me in the last couple of weeks!!

I don't want to depress you all with the sorry tale that has become my life over the past few weeks but those of you who pop to 'visit' me will know that I have been having some horrendous problems with my ex husband - Ellie's dad.  Not going to go into all the gory details, but suffice to say that after 5 years of being divorced and thinking things were kind of ok between us, since his girlfriend has been on the scene things have taken a downward turn.  He is now taking me to court for custody of Ellie, claiming that I don't look after her properly, and that I don't care for her condition properly (she has a chronic lung disorder requiring physio twice a day and lots of drugs).  This is of course totaly crap and I know he can't win (even my very expensive legal team say he's an idiot!) However, our family holiday this year has been cancelled as I have just had to pay out nearly £3k in fees and if he takes it to court then it will be between £10 and £15k!

The only way I can raise that sort of cash is to sell our family home - so you can see why I have not been my best of late! What a total b*****d - but I'm afraid the gloves are off now and I won't go down without a fight.  Colin (my partner of 4 years with whom I share my home) and Callum, his 9 year old son who spends most of his time with us, could be uprooted because of this total git.  You know what though - Colin said, "Charlie, as long as we are all together I'd live in a shed with you!".... god I hope he hasn't had a preminition!!

So consequently all my best intentions to ge slim and fitter have fallen by the wayside a bit - I put on 3 of the 7lbs I lost (I blame the winefor that!) but I will deal with that in time.  Want to slink into court in a pair of size 12 hotpants and high heels!! NOT going to let him grind me down any more!!

So, once half term week is over its back to the grindstone and to try and do something for me for a change.  I need an escape from it all a few times a week and running is the answer! That coupled with cutting out the wine should help!!

Sorry to moan on about it all but its such a huge thing at the moment and seems to have overtaken everything else!!

I hope you are all keeping up with your running and that your lives are SO much better than mine!! xx

    • kraftykat 'Really sorry you're still having a tough time. But - look on the positive side - 1) You've got Colin to help you through it, he sounds like a star! 2) Don't worry about the 3lbs you've put back on - be positive and concentrate on the 4lbs you've lost! 3) you've done more running than me - not done anything since London! 4) Starting from next week why not try and set yourself a little target of doing a couple of runs. Plan which days you can fit them in and stick to it - just like you did for London. Tick em off and you'll feel great. 5) Remember the serenity prayer..... Thinking of you ;)' added 27th May 2009
