Beautiful Disaster!

Oh dear this is not a good week. I've been training ok and reporting in these blogs a week in arrears but things happen so fast I think I'd better get you all right up to date. So my week before was good in fact better than good. Still averaging only 3 times a week but still got:
Target miles = 45 Actual miles = 30
This was including the high of my longest run of 18 miles which involved stopping for a freebie Mint Aero to carry on my run (bonus!) and running with my crazy new running club around London following a trail set by one of the group. Like I say great running and ways to see the city so all was going according to plan until the weekend. ..
Allow me to explain - last week was manic at work and I only ran once during the week. Not being too concerned I went to work on Friday for a big meeting in heels (Mistake no 1) bear with me the detail is necessary). Not one normally such glamourous footwear I then went to a dance class in the evening and well to cut a long story short my poor feet were complaining big time! Already tender, I guess when I did my long one this weekend in my not so regular running trainers (mistake no2) I came a cropper. Pain underneath my foot in the arch. Not good I tried to run on but I the pain worsened so decided to walk the last mile home - I've never done that before. ARGH!
So not good - I'm trying to be realistic and positive and well keep my feet up for a while anyway. I'm booked in to my sports injury guy and I am keeping everything crossed. It may be that in my normal shoes I'm ok I just need to see how I fare this week. But honestly I could scream!
Hope you are faring better than me this week! It really is a rollercoaster ride this!

Clouseau 'Oh dear, sounds like you have given your feet a tough time this week! That's one of the reasons why I avoid high heels now. ;-) I hope the pain in your foot is nothing serious - full marks for booking in for some pro advice but take it easy for a few days, just in case.' added 16th Mar 2009
