Physco Coach

Thats tall coaches new name. Yesterday he did grindleford gallop (21 miles) and today he ran the canal run with us (21 miles). On top of that last night he drank a bottle of red wine and a few pints! How does he do this?
Well today was... well better than when I ran the same run last year but I still struggled from about mile 17. It didnt help that there were chunks of canal path closed off, so we had to keep finding detours and i didnt have my usual gel so had to use one of Longmeats which made me gag a lot. But it was a very nice day and a scenic run and good company! At 20 miles we reached another tow path closure and I said I'd finished and walked the last mile with Physco Coach. After all its still progression from my last 19miler. However, Postie and Longmeat, ended up reaching the pub at the end AFTER us even though we walked cos they ended up trying to get through canal path anyway only to find a big chunk of it missing and so had to go back and ended up doing about 23 miles! I knew my instinct was right! lol.
A plate of scampi, chips and a big glass of pepsi later and it all felt worthwhile. Altho i gotta say those last miles made me wonder if i really want to do this again!!!! Hope to feel fitter next week!
Run: 20 miles (3 hours 28 including lots of little stops, and even calling at shop for more water! It was hot!)

Clouseau 'You are doing amazingly well Leah! But be careful - you're in an over-use injury minefield - your new coach is leading you into it. Considering how far you have had to come please don't jeopardise your chances on the day by piling on miles without proper rest in between!!!!' added 15th Mar 2009

Petecw29 'Nice running Leah don'y worry about those negative thoughts we all get them before the marathon especially when we're exhausted after a long run. Make sure you recover over the next few days before anymore hard sessions. Keep smiling!' added 15th Mar 2009
