Here we go again...

Following my visit to the chiropractor on Friday, I've tried to improve on my stretching. The dogs still think its great fun to divebomb me when I lie face down to do my quad stretch - maybe they're trying to catch my foot and ease it a little further??
Work is rapidly getting worse - fear I'll be the only one there soon, IT has been decimated - but I have no time to jobhunt, not least until after 25th April!! After another tough day today I decided I could manage a quick half hour before it went dark and headed off down the road - my legs felt a little leadlike, but hopefully now I've stretched out, and by the time I've had a hot soak they'll ease up! Because of the training lapse that i've experienced I've decided to cover only 3 long runs between now and VLM, these will be 13, 15 and 18 milers run/walk, coupled with a few short runs inbetween to keep ticking over - first one will be early next week following my visit to the chiropractor again on Monday (he's on holiday this week - how dare he!!!
). So this week - will run again Friday (approx 6m), swimming in Semer Water @ Hawes on Saturday, and short run round the block on Sunday.
Happy running folks - it felt quite springlike this evening - a warm breeze........... wonderful and about time too!!!

kraftykat 'It must be a pet thing about stretching - my cat loves to climb on top of me when I'm doing my stretching after runs! He seems to find it amusing that I'm led flat out. push him off and he climbs back on!!!! Crazy kat!!! Your LSR plan sounds good, sensible distances after what you've gone through.' added 17th Mar 2010

Johnf 'Fingers crossed for you on the job front. Good idea on the long runs, keep running the shorter ones regularly, they all help the stamina. Swimming outside, are you mad?' added 18th Mar 2010

Kendlef 'ahh poor you, the only one in IT, hope things get better soon. sounds like your gettin back on track with your training. im mainly doing short runs at the moment with longer ones when i can fit them in - seems to be working better with fitting everything in. your dogs sound as crazy as eric, although im sure if i tried to stretch with him in the same room, he would probably try to eat my face!! :D' added 18th Mar 2010

simonedumergue 'Pets or children - they are a magnet for anyone stretching. We don't have pets but my kids always decide it is time for a cuddle with mummy when I am in the middle of some complicated stretch and come and drape themselves all over me! Sounds like a sensible plan for the remainder of your training. Work is obviously adding to the 'load' - hope you come out the other side OK!' added 18th Mar 2010
