High heels and sore knees
Dec1620098:34 p.m.
I've become a little concerned over the last few weeks because I've noticed my knees have felt uncomfortable when walking up or down stairs, in particular when I'm at work. I hoped that I wouldn't have to deal with that sort of knee pain again. So to try to make the muscles in my legs stronger again I'd been concentrating on going to the gym rather than jogging. The pain only ever seemed to occur while at work or just after getting home which didn't make much sense to me, maybe it was to do with the cold floors?? Then last week before the Christmas dinner evening I decided to go into work very casual, jeans and low boots and surprise surprise there was no knee pain. When I thought about it it all became clear, high heels must be the problem. I'm not really sure how or why, maybe I walk differently in heels or there's no cushioning and that's the reason? I'm not really that bothered why but I am pleased that I've solved that little problem. I can't stop wearing heels but I won't let it worry me and I won't let it stop me getting back into early morning jogs.
Just recently I've noticed a neighbour out running. When I saw him on the street we stopped and chatted and it turns out he'd seen me jogging past and thought to himself if I could do it so could he....I'm not sure I've ever been inspiration to anyone before but I was very flattered to find out that I'd been his.
With Christmas so close I start to worry. I worry that I've bought the right things for people, I worry about having enough food for the two days, I worry that all the stuff I've ordered via the internet will turn up in time. I usually rush out Christmas Eve and buy something else, anything else! This year I'm not going to do that, I'm going to relax and if I've forgotten anything...tough.
I'm off now to feed the hedgehog some cat food.
