Week 1

So I signed up for the Edinburgh marathon after I put my name in the ballot for the London marathon as I was convinced that i wouldn't get in to London. Well guess what I got a ballot place on my first attempt.
i figured if i only ever get to do one marathon I would do London and then see about Edinburgh.
So this week is week 1 of marathon training and its not started well. I haven't run for over a week as i had a blister on the joint of my big toe that became infected and flip flops were the shoe of choice anything more was too painful. I've never known anything like it.
So the plan this week is to do a gently exploratory run to see how the toe/blister sight is and if ok do a maximum of 10 miles this week and 1 gym session. If its not good then it'll be 4 gym sessions for me.
So got up today feeling crap - all headachy, sore throat and achy. Have not run or been to gym today but on the plus side I feel better now than I did when I got up this morning. So hopefully a good nights sleep tonight and I'll feel better in the morning.
So here goes six months of hard work.
