My Trip to Expo

Apr2220109:35 p.m.

Really enjoyed my day in London.  Up at 4.45am, my colleague and fellow runner Izzy was at the door at 5.30am and we were on the road to pick up my other colleague who was flying over to the States.  Waved him off to departures at Gatwick and got back on the M25 to Expo.  Took us ages and ages to get there, but when we did we were both vvvvveeeerrrry excited, like two school kids!  No queing for numbers and tags .... very friendly staff.  We both wanted some VLM shorts so headed to the Adidas stand ... I had envisaged buying the baggy ladies black and red shorts, but they didn't have a pocket so plumped for the cycling shorts with a pocket for my Jelly Babies.  Spent the most significant amount of time with the sport scientists at the lucozade stand.  Really good nutritional advise from Sat AM until the last mile and I even got a free gel for mile 7!  The realbuzz stand was fun and of course we took advantage of the pic with the trophy!

Took ages and ages to drive out of London ... I was so exhausted when I got home decided to ditch the planned  5 miles tonight ... it won't make a jot of difference now.  So thats it ... my chip is on my shoe and my number pinned to my shirt ..... I'm ready and will be taking the Headington Road Runners Bus on Sunday at 6am.  Good Luck one and all!
