Clarke Carlisle has played his way up through the footballing ranks with stints at Blackpool, QPR, Leeds, Watford and Burnley. The imposing 6ft 3 inch centreback is no mug off the pitch either, once being named Britain's Brainiest Footballer in a TV game show.

An ambassador for the Kick It Out campaign, which campaigns for inclusion and equality in football, Clarke Carlisle is also part of the Management Committee of the Professional Footballers' Association,  aiming to improve and protect the rights and status of professional football players. This makes him perfectly placed to act as a pundit for the BBC where he first made his debut on Match of the Day 2 in 2009.
