Renewing old acquaintances....

Sep29201011:12 a.m.

Well, well, well! I know that Mr Coyle was expecting a bit of a tongue lashing, but having six hurly burly stewards escorting him around the place was a bit much! Better to be safe than sorry, I suppose, but I think he would have benefited from leaving those guys on the pitch! Without exaggeration, I believe we dominated the game from start to finish. Robbie Blake reminded us of his precocious talent by sliding a few sublime passes through our defensive line from time to time, but overall, we thoroughly deserved the victory. And what of the prize? A trip to Villa Park! Another Tuesday night full of promise and mystery in store with this battle of the Claret and Blue Armies!!!

We continued our domination on our own patch when Bristol City visited at the weekend. In all areas of the game we were superior, virtually every stat you could imagine, apart from the crucial one, the scoreline. It will never say in the Rothmans, Burnley 0-0 Bristol City ( but Burnley absolutely dominated, missed a penalty and really should have won the game by three or four); this isn’t cricket where you can achieve the paradox of a ‘winning draw’! There are positives to take from the game though, we were dominant and we didn’t lose, but the results really do need to follow.

My week finished on quite a dramatic note, or rather melodramatic! I found myself in A&E at one o’clock Sunday morning after a whole day a stomach pains that I can only describe as debilitating! Once I’d convinced myself that my appendix was about to burst any minute, I thought I’d better get to the hospital while I still could! A two hour wait ensued with me pacing up and down the empty waiting room, sporadically doubling up in pain, and then I was finally called through. After a thorough thoracic check up, the doctor finally concluded that I had……constipation!! I couldn’t leave the hospital quick enough! My colleagues have had a wonderful time suggesting ways to cure my woes, but I think I’ll stick to prune juice, far less intrusive!! I hope you all have a great week, and many blessings!

A good win last night and another clean sheet which is very, very good and helps with the good old goal diff. UTC' added 29th Sep 2010
