    This is the life! It's my first day of training and I've found an opportunity to sit on my bottom and write something instead of going for my first run!

    No, no, NO. This is what I am doing BEFORE going on my first run. From now on all attempts to procrastinate and prevaricate are banned in favour of PEREGRINATION, which I have just discovered means to travel, especially on foot.

    Yes, last night I decided to sign up for the adidas women's challenge. I was pondering on the nature of my life at the moment and compared it to an octopus, an unmanageable octopus with each tentacle writhing towards me, demanding my:

    • patience
    • tolerance
    • understanding
    • sense of humour
    • generosity
    • wisdom
    • energy
    • ironing skills

    So I reasoned that it would be sensible to add to the pressure by electing to attempt a task I have never done before and for which I am not physically suited.

    Hooray!

    I have just sent an email to the Allergy Foundaiton asing if I can run on their behalf. So perhaps I really do mean it. We will see...
