Brrrrr!

Feb0720128:54 p.m.

Late leaving work tonight, and as I was heading home the car thermometer was dropping steadily until it reached an all too familiar 2 degrees c.

Should have been a club run tonight, but in view of the time, realised I'd have to give that a miss tonight.  Instead, I took the dog for a short walk and got back indoors & lit the coal fire.  Couldn't sit and enjoy it though as my conscience kept niggling away.  Came to a compromise with myself (if that's possible) and decided to put my tea in the oven, and whilst it was cooking, I'd go for a short recovery run.

The first half mile or so wasn't easy & the cold air wasn't helping the lungs.  However, I settled in and then turned round when I ran out of village at about 1.5 miles.  I then took in another side road, intending to turn around when I ran out of streetlights, but the almost full moon lit the roads so well, I decided to carry on and do one of my usual loops - into the next village, and then back into mine in one nice loop.

Have no idea what the temperature was, but the cars have frozen over and the gritting lorry was out & about, but I returned home to my roaring fire and tea which had cooked (OK, overcooked as I was out longer than anticipated, but still very nice!)

4.6miles run.

Total for the week:  22.6

Tomorrow, fully intend getting to the spinning class & hope I get on the road before the binmen!
