Elaines -Comrades Ultra Marathon 2009 by Elainec

There is a 52km Trail run up the mountains of the Cape at Rhodes on the Lesotho border in July, the awesome Fivesome have been trying to get race entrys, there is a limited number of entrants due to the route being over a conservation area. There will be snow and at the present time it is minus 8 there. As it is a trail run there is very little road running. Once you get a place it is yours for keeps so long as you run each year, you can substitute it out. We have been asking everyone of our running pals to keep a look out for numbers for us, our accomodation is booked and today we got news we have the final number we were waiting on so all 5 of us have got a place. We only have a months rest between Comrades and Rhodes but I guess it will give us all something to look forward to. Well thats taken my mind of Comrades a bit.  Will have to buy some snow shoes.....

Back to comrades 5 sleeps and getting nervous last night I was on the route in my sleep.....   Going to meet up with the loonies on Friday at the expo then we are going for supper out, I think it will be the dryest social we will of ever had.....
