13 still my unlucky number!

Another week closer and still I can't get past unlucky 13!
This was the week to do it, Sunday morning was beautiful and I sat there thinking what a lovely run it will be today and thinking how nice it will be to not run in so many layers. A bit too much thinking though as Sunday morning soon disappeared and I was left with cold miserable Sunday afternoon. The layers and the gloves came out as I ventured off in pouring cold rain, next time I'll go in the morning!!
The rain was challenging me though as I thought if it gets much worse and I abandon I need to have got a decent workout so I set off at a quicker pace. I was soon to find though this wasn't such a bad thing as 10 miles soon (not really soon but for my standards) past and I was coasting. At this point my mind wandered to thinking of how I can finally tell everyone I have cracked the magic 15, oh my confidence was sky high....... then disaster the most ridiculous of ways to ruin a run and my happiness I got an injury!! How did I get an injury is the stupid part.....
I stepped on a pine cone!! so with the stride being thrown off and me trying to twist to avoid it, I managed to jar my knee and it instantly seized up. A bit of panic now as I have the Silverstone half mile this weekend but I gave it a little rest and stretched and jogged but no use I had to go home lightly jogging the last 2 miles.
Just 12 mile completely and a sore knee thankfully it all seem to revert back to normal as soon as I got back and rested but also within 10 seconds of me walking in the door we had the biggest hailstorm so I was relieved.
Not much else to report for the week and couple of gym visits and thrashing Duffer at squash (no workout needed ;) sorry scummer)
Very much looking forward to the Silverstone event this weekend to see if it really does help me running in a crowd (if it doesn't I'm in trouble) and again I will take positives from the week for the time of my first 10 miles.
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far and to my mum is doing a great job leading the fundraising, the total is creeping up and it all makes a huge difference
