Choreographing the show.....

Feb0720112:44 p.m.

Well what a challenge we've thrown ourselves into. It's quite amazing how much work Midnight Tango is going to be, and that's just the preparation. The actual performances are going to be the most enjoyable and I expect, the easier part. We have 29 numbers to choreograph (wow), it scares me even to write it down. We started working on music in January and so far we have choreographed 6 numbers, so there are still so many to go. However we are staying very positive, we will get there soon and it will be by far the greatest achievement for both Vincent and I. We have been choreographing about 4 to 6 hours a day, some days we get lots done and others it's a slow process and you work your way through, waiting for a breakthrough that eventually happens.

When we have great music we do love choreographing, it's very inspirational. We started with our solos, it took us some time to make sure we were really happy with our numbers, and there still might be some changes once we are on set. It's exciting that rather than performing on a blank canvas, we are actually involved in what’s going to be a great looking set to work in and around. It makes it harder at the moment as we have still not finalised where everything will be. But our bodies are feeling back to normal after the Christmas holidays, and actually we are a bit achy with the repetition of rehearsals.

Vincent has had a slight neck injury but is on the mend and I've accumulated several scrapes and bruises on my legs. It’s bound to happen when you’re trying to be inventive with 4 legs together...! I'm very much hoping that by the time I write my next blog we will have completed so many more numbers. That would make me so happy and relieve some of the mental pressure, allowing us to actually enjoy the dancing and performing... I will keep you all posted. Thank you so much for your messages of support already. I feel like you’re all part of the team in bringing Midnight Tango alive.
