Having the time of our lives.......!

Oct19201110:41 p.m.

Thank you once again to those of you who voted at the weekend. Your continued support is greatly appreciated by Russell and I, because it really gives us both a lift. It makes us feel as if all our work is paying off and we promise to keep working the best we can as long as we are in the competition. Well thanks to you we are here, I can't quite believe I'm teaching Russell his 4th dance. The weeks are flying by now and it almost feels like life is on fast forward. Mind you I haven’t had a day off for weeks, but I’m not complaining! It doesn’t feel like work, especially when you’re working with someone who is as wonderful as Russell (or should I say Mama Rose!)

And what a fabulous job he did with the Foxtrot, his first ballroom dance. Considering the fact he was very nervous about performing ballroom I think he did us both proud. Russell was in his element, as you may know he loves the West End stage and his life is the theatre, so the Broadway special was perfect for him to show off what a great showman he is. I do so love working with him. The Broadway edition was my busiest so far with 4 numbers, two of which were choreographed by the fab Karen Bruce. They were very different to what us ballroom and Latin trained dancers are used to! It was great fun though, although it can be more stressful for us pros as we have to adapt to new techniques. And because Vin was eliminated the week before, we were asked to dance to Susan Boyle’s performance, and then finally my dance with Russell. Phew!

Strangely enough it's worked out that Vin and I are going to be dancing our Argentine Tango on the show this coming Saturday, so you’ll have to put up with us again for another week running! (LOL!) It’s important to keep your energy up on days like that this, so it’s good that I eat well. I also like to snack on protein bars, Maxitone do a whole range that I like because they are a good source of energy and contain lots of vitamins and minerals to help me towards me a healthy and balanced diet.

Last week Russell and I trained in London as we had group rehearsals on Sunday, but I must say I'm very happy to be back in Snowdonia this week for training. I do miss home a lot but being here is so inspiring! We rehearse in a theatre in a very small and pretty village community, which is lovely, with such great support from the locals too. An air-conditioned gym doesn't seem to have the attraction it might have once had. This weekend I'll be doing both styles of tango, the Argentine Tango with Vin and the ballroom tango with Russell.  I just love this routine, it's a great song and a real strong story, so I hope you all enjoy it. I have to say that it's turned decidedly chilly up here in Snowdonia, winter feels like it's definitely on the way. Thank you again for your continued support for Mama Rose and Gypsy. See you again next week FC xxx
