I like running :-) by Flumptious

About

Just updating this (and changing the title). I have been running (slowly!) since the mid-nineties. Then, in 2005, I fell off my bicycle (*with* a helm...

I like running :-)

Dec2920114:11 p.m.

Last week, Mrs Newphysio said I could run 'for up to half an hour' (so, getting longer!). I have been a bit ties up with other things to do (trips away for Christmas, trips to see the other half of the family, etc. etc.). I managed a run on Boxing Day, but then had to have a couple of days off.

But I went for a run this morning, and it was lovely.SmileSmileSmile I was going to go up into town, but halfway there, the road was blocked by some road works. So I turned right, and then I thought "Ooh, I used to go up that way...". So I crossed over, and started up Sidney Road, which was on my long route up to the river. Then I took Crossway, and came back along Midway. Those are 'private roads' that go between the two big roads, but with no 'normal' traffic. So you can run down the middle of the road. Smile I've always enjoyed running there (although of course I haven't done for ages, as this injury has made me keep my runs much shorter).

I ran for 15 minutes, then turned round. I really enjoyed it. SmileSmileSmile Running is SO nice. SmileSmileSmile  My leg didn't really seem to be hurting at all. SmileSmileSmile It was a bit numb, but it always used to have a little bit of pain. That wasn't there today. SmileSmileSmile 2.61 miles, in 30:36. Not proud of the pace at all, but I am really pleased with the distance, and the lack of pain while running. SmileSmileSmile

Yet more SmileSmileSmile : on Christmas Day, Rob said "Well, you've said for ages that you want my bikes and stuff out of the way. So I give in. We WILL get an extension. Happy Christmas!" SmileSmileSmile SmileSmileSmile SmileSmileSmile There is a clear driveway right down the side of the house, so going out into it will be quite easy, I think.

However, Rob has since admitted that HE wants the extension, so that he will have a new room, to keep his bike and turbo-trainer in. Well, as they will then be out of my way, and I will get a nice new kitchen; and a room for the washing machine and drying frame; and a second toilet and a shower room (which, as we will have two teenage girls in a few years time, will be rather a good idea!), I am rather happy about this idea! SmileSmileSmile SmileSmileSmile SmileSmileSmile
