I like running :-) by Flumptious

About

Just updating this (and changing the title). I have been running (slowly!) since the mid-nineties. Then, in 2005, I fell off my bicycle (*with* a helm...

I think I will stop wearing the HRM strap

Jan2920123:12 p.m.

Rob went out for a long run this morning (as he is planning for the Barcelona Marathon, in March). When he got back, I went out for my run. I really enjoyed it. Smile

I run because:

  • It is good for me (my hear, my lungs, and my muscles).
  • It makes sure I don't turn into a football on legs. I am addicted to plain chocolate Hob-Nobs, and cider (both of which I'm being good with this month. I did allow myself a couple of glasses of wine on Friday night, but that was only because Lizzie turned 10, which I felt I *had* to celebrate!).
  • I feel proud of myself for doing it.
  • Hey, I enjoy it! Smile

But the Garmin was always telling me my heart rate was over 220, and often over 240.Surprised So, I think I will stop wearing that strap. Before I started, it said 80, so it's not always silly. But it is when I'm running! So, I think I should stop wearing it. I have never trusted the numbers (definitely not, if it says I have average heart rate of 220!), but I really don't know what I'd do, if I did. So, bye-bye, Garmin HRM!

So, I got home, and (after my stretching, of course!), I went up for a shower. But, when Rob had got back from his run, he had had a bath. And completly emptoed the hot water tank, it seems. My shower was FREEZING!

However, I suppose I will forgive him, as he is just finishing off cooking a roast pork Sunday lunch.

(This is posted late, as I had to stop, to stuff my face with yummy food. Smile)
