About

Just updating this (and changing the title). I have been running (slowly!) since the mid-nineties. Then, in 2005, I fell off my bicycle (*with* a helm...

I went for a run! :-) :-)

Oct2420119:39 a.m.

I went for my first run since the end of August today. Smile Rob had to go to work early-ish, and it's half-term, so the girls are off school. So I said I'd go early. But it was still dark at seven. I didn't want my first run to be in the dark. Luckily, I didn't have to wait very long before it was light. So, off I went. Smile I *really* enjoyed it. I miss running so much!

If you have missed it, my piriformis and sciatic nerve has been giving me *serious* pain since the very end of August. I have been seeing a physio for a few weeks. She really hurts my bum, and my bank account! £41 a session, two sessions most weeks. She's been doing massages, and giving me lots of stretches to do; and then ultrasound. I was only though of ultrasound as a way of seeing the baby you have in your belly. I hadn't thought of it doing physiotherapy massage 'inside' the muscle! So, my bum is *loads* better, although it's still not right. It hurts when I lift my knee high, and also when I stand up after sitting down for a while.

When I saw her on Thursday, she said I could go for a gentle run. SurprisedSmile But, I went to the Isle Of Wight this weekend, with my 170 first years. So, no running over the weekend. But I ran this morning. SmileSmileSmile

I just took it gently. But it felt so good! I could 'feel' my bum, but it didn't bother me at all. Smile

Now, will my bum seize up during the day? Idesperately hope not, of course. We shall see...
